For a short while was renamed "Birmingham North" in the 1990's. Has since reverted back to its original name.

Buildings were completed but the services did not open for business for another couple of years.

The last services to have a separate Truckers cafe (a regulatory requirement for many years, now replaced by the voucher system)

Along with Trowell, the first MSA in to have a "contemplation room" - a small room with a table, Bible and Koran inside for stressed travellers to pray and unwind. They are trial rooms, 4 trial sites are planned in 2003

According to Motley Fool, this site was the Busiest MSA in 1998

  • Looked a bit dismal from the outside, needs to be modernised urgently, service was very good, was served by a sweet old lady (Pauline) would advise all M6 truckers to stop here. - 2009-01-24
